Covid-19 Update for Weddings, Events & Photobooths

COVID-19 UPDATE

WEDDINGS & EVENTS

It’s hard for me to write this. This was supposed to be your year, and it can still be. If your wedding or event has to be postponed or rescheduled due to State/City mandates as a precaution against the coronavirus, please note that I have updated my rescheduling and transferring policies.

For rescheduled weddings, the non-refundable retainer paid, and any monies thereafter paid, can and will be transferred over to your new date so long as I have the availability. Communication is key, so please keep me informed of all changes to your wedding and any rescheduling. I’m here for you and will try to accommodate your new wedding date. It’s imperative that you communicate with me about your new date, or have me in the same call as your vendors, because I want to make sure you do not lose your non-refundable retainer by choosing a date I am not available or cancelling all-together. We can also hop on a call to make sure you and your guest stay safe, as well as my team remain safe, for your wedding. If you’re still undecided about rescheduling, still let me know. I know this is a trying time for you and we’re all dependent on the day to day updates from our State.

For safety reasons, and until further notice, my team and I will be wearing masks and/or social distancing from clients and all guests. We can also go over any additional methods of safety including my team always sanitizing hands after handling any detail shots requested (gown, jewelry, invitations, etc).

Remember, you can call or email me. If you want to just chat, or talk things through, I am here for you!

PHOTOBOOTH

For all photobooth bookings for the rest of 2020, or until further notice, again, please know the health and safety of you and your guest and my team are my priority as I closely monitor the State and City mandates regarding the Coronavirus.

Beginning May 1, 2020, the following changes have been made:

  • My team will wear masks and gloves at all events.

  • My team will be the only people to touch the photobooth, screen and kiosk. Guests will social distance 6 feet from the booth at all times. Lines will also social distance and guests waiting will stand 6 feet apart.

  • My team will not pick up prints for guests. Guests can pick up prints directly from the printer.

  • Guests will assemble DIY guestbooks, not anyone from my team.

  • No props will be available or provided by our team until further notice.

PORTRAITS

All portraits, when the State/City lifts any mandates, will be done outdoors. Any locations that require a permit will still be the Client’s responsibility to acquire. All parties will follow social distancing guidelines.

Please note, because newborn photos are done indoors at the family’s home, I’m only booking newborn sessions for 2021. However, I can provide virtual coaching for digital composites. Contact me to find out more.

New York City Newborn Photography by Angelica Criscuolo Photography

New_York_NYC_Newborn_Photos_Photography-8.jpg

Beautiful Ava, with her brother and loving parents, was welcomed to the Upper West Side, and there's no better way to commemorate her arrival than with a New York City newborn photography session in their home. Yes, I do travel to the family's home for newborn sessions (anywhere in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Tri-State area including Long Island), which is part of the service paid as part of the newborn package. With various backdrops and props to choose from, we photographed Ava along with her family. Of course the young lady was exhausted and had to be fed in the middle of her session. Newborns are the boss after all and what they say, or don't say, goes! Newborn photography isn't just about the props, but capturing the small details of the baby. They are tiny only for so long so getting photos of their fingers, toes, is also important.

Brooklyn NY Maternity Session & Newborn Photography by Angelica Criscuolo Photography

Brooklyn__New_York_Maternity_PHotography_Ideas_0007.jpg

Congratulations to Pauline and Simeone! They had their gorgeous baby girl, Virginie, and she was such a sweetheart to photograph. I met Pauline on the N train from Sunset Park in Brooklyn, NY heading into the city. She turned to me and ask if I was a photographer. I was carrying gear and looking at images on my Canon Mark III. After I confirmed she smiled and happily said she was pregnant! As you can see, Pauline is gorgeous and tiny and she did not look pregnant at all! We started talking and she hired me to do her NYC maternity photography session in her Victorian home in Brooklyn, New York. We planned on shooting their baby's Brooklyn NY newborn photography session as well. At the time they didn't know if they were having a boy or a girl. On July 2, 2012, Virginie was born! She is such a beautiful angel and was such a good girl. She loved the attention and was comfortable with all the attention. Below are a few images from the maternity and newborn session. Congratulations once again! I am so happy I took that train in that moment since I met such a wonderful couple and gorgeous little girl as a result. Hope everyone enjoys the images! Feel free to let me know what you think about the maternity session and newborn session and check out my Facebook page on http://www.Facebook.com/AngelicaCriscuoloPhotography. Savannah, Joseph, Sabrina & Sophia's Children Photo Session - Brooklyn, NY

These children are just too remarkable for words! Joanna, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your children! They are beautiful, sweet, and very precious and definitely one of the best children photography session I have done! We traveled to my old neighborhood by Gravesend in Brooklyn, NY. Specifically we had the session in Marine Park and the location was perfect for what Joanna envisioned. Loved how each of the children's outfits were chosen and everyone was definitely stylish. Just look at each of them! If you ask me which picture is my favorite, I honestly cannot choose. I love them all and I <3 these kids! Here's a sneak peak at their session:

Family Portrait Session - Lisa, Jason, Avery & Scott, Donna, Dylan!

So far the spring and summer has been a great time to meet amazing new clients! From engagement sessions, to maternity, now let's do a few blogs for family sessions! Lisa, Jason and their daughter Avery was accompanied by Avery's cousin Dylan and his parents Scott and Donna. What a great family and we were in Queens shooting their session on a beautiful day. As you can see from the pictures, Avery loves her little cousin and Dylan is just a cute little man! Thank you everyone for trusting Angelica Criscuolo Photography for your family session! I'm happy you all loved the pictures and I truly did love taking each picture!

New York City Maternity Photography - Central Park

Recently did a New York Maternity photo session with Vincent and Jeryl who is expecting any day now! We went to Central Park with just J and V and a red balloon...and me...and my camera which is basically my baby...and hundreds of others roaming Central Park enjoying the gorgeous day.Congratulations to the soon-to-be mommy and daddy! Had a great time and the weather cooperated even on a February. The sun was shining and the red balloon had a mind of it's own...it could be mimicking how baby is feeling inside mommy's tummy...but it could just be the red balloon trying to grab all the attention. In any case, the theme V + J were going for worked out pretty well. Caught some great pictures, along with blue skies, really just equalled many great shots. We started off in the upper east side in front of the Alice and Wonderland statue...which by the way is crawling with kids after 11 AM so if you want to get some shots get there earlier! I always forget that statue is huge and if I wasn't working I'd be climbing the statue and playing with the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit with the kids...Where was I? Oh yes, get there early! My fault...weekend and forgot trains do not like to run on weekends. Sigh. In any case, walked by the boathouse and Bethesda Fountain and along the way took some frame pictures and of course the Red Balloon..maybe we'll call him "RB".... took center stage everywhere we went in Central Park. "RB" really created the mood and helped form the pictures. Of course, V + J are just such a cute couple that you can't help but fall in love with them and wish them all the best when their new bundle of joy arrives! THis reminds me, I need to get Jeryl's advice since this lovely woman still has her figure and you couldn't even tell she is pregnant if you weren't looking straight at her! I just wish the power above will grant me the same fortune. Enough about me, hope everyone enjoys these pictures.  I'll post them also on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/angelicacriscuolophotography. Thanks Vincent and Jeryl for allowing me to capture your maternity photography session! Too bad no one wanted to get "RB" and take him for a walk after our use...but it was enjoyable saying goodbye to him.

Newborn Photography Session - Milo

I love doing newborn photography as much as I love doing weddings! So we headed to Virginia a couple of weeks ago to not only visit friends but take newborn photographs of this cutie! Welcome Milo and we're happy to meet you! Your daddy and mommy and big sis are excited you're here. Can't wait to see them again. He's such a precious little angel. His parents are so lucky! I couldn't help but bring with me some props I use for my sessions and took advantage of all the goodies (like the awesome chest we used to place Milo) Becky and Mark had in their home! By the way, Becky owns Addie Bean Blossoms so do check out her hair blossoms as well! Back to newborns...yes they are precious and cute and cuddly and you just want to hug them all day, but when doing newborn sessions I'm always extra careful and need the parent's help to ensure the session goes smoothly. With a very young model who definitely cannot take directions, mommy or daddy must take the lead. Always have a couple of hands ready. Most of the time when placing the newborn on a flat surface and they're awake, they just stay there for a few minutes (FEW is the key word) before they realize their inner instincts are telling them "I don't like this" and then they start to fuss. That's why mom or dad need to be there to be ready to pick them up and calm them. Also, newborns are always hungry, so after soothing them for who knows how long, there will be a time when they will need to be fed and we all know that takes awhile. So newborn sessions can go on for hours and hours, but the end result, for me anyway and hopefully for the parents, are worth it!

Well, enjoy these pics and if you need to book your newborn session feel free to contact me for availability!

Portraits Are More Than Paper - Why photographs are very important and lasts forever....

Today I read a post by Jeanine Thurston, re-posted by so many photographers and non-photographers alike, and the letter that created the post stirred old memories that I too had to post it: http://fototails.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/a-letter-on-my-doorstep-portraits-are-more-than-paper/ After reading the letter, I cannot help but feel this person's regret of not understanding how pictures are so much more lasting than "trivial" items. Portraits and photographs  are more than a piece of paper, since it helps memorialize an event or a person or a special memory of a newborn being born or children growing up with families, a wedding, and more. From time to time I do get the "oh no! there she is again!" when I take out my camera and start photographing family and friends when we're together privately or out so I can capture those memories.  Many say their memories are in their mind and do not need photographs or videos of an event, but for me, personally, I love having a tangible visual of an event or memory with my husband, family and friends. Why do I do it? I do it because I know memories are fleeting. Getting older, my memory is not what it was years ago...and that is scary. How many times have we told ourselves I'll remember this moment forever...but later stumble upon a picture (maybe years or weeks later) taken by someone else and you truly forgot that moment occurred? I LOVE going through my pictures from time to time and remembering time spent with those I love. I have folders of digital images going back from 1999 with a miscellaneous folder where I added scanned images of older paper photographs.

Maybe some think that going overboard...and some may think its not...but each of us must do what feels right and capturing memories the way I know how feels the right way. I also take pictures because I know often time pictures are all we may have left of someone one day. A sad thought but true...and it was true for Karen L. who wrote the letter. Her letter has made this past hour an emotional roller coaster, leaving people wondering why I look like I've been crying...so here I am pretending to have a cold, but in reality I'm remembering the feeling of not having that picture I wanted and needed of someone who suddenly passed on. When my father passed away in 2007, I was creating a memorial board of him, and realized that the last picture I took with him and I alone was taken...well I couldn't find one. Honestly the last good one (not blurry or anything else) was from 2001 when I graduated college. There was one picture from my birthday party my dad threw for me at his house in 2005 that had me, him and my siblings together, and I had to cut out my siblings so I can frame that picture of me and my dad in my apartment. The picture was also blurry, but it was all I had standing next to him. Other pictures before he passed was of me taking the picture, or a group picture. Just remembering that realization made me panic. This was the eve of my father's wake and I'm scrambling to find pictures of my dad and me and I couldn't find a one.

Photographs of any event or a portrait of your family or pictures with friends are something that should not be taken for granted. For many they are not just a want or a need, but a priceless memory that can be passed on. If you haven't read Karen L's letter, read on: http://fototails.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/a-letter-on-my-doorstep-portraits-are-more-than-paper/

Thank you Jeanine for posting this letter. Karen L. and many more are in my prayers.

Ng Family Session - Planting Fields Arboretum - by Angelica Criscuolo Photography

Meet the Ng Family!!! We went to Planting Fields Arboretum, which was definitely a great location to take family pictures in Long Island. The place was beautiful and the Ng's enjoyed the surroundings, creating a perfect backdrop and relaxing atmosphere to take these pictures. Such a loving family and Justin and Jaiden are lucky to have amazing parents such as Tina and Steve.

KC's Baby Session

Meet KC and the Rutka family! We had a fabulous time in Central Park capturing KC's laughter, smiles and giggles in time for her upcoming first birthday celebration. Sucha a happy and beautiful child! Gorgeous eyes and wonderful sweet little thing and all in all a great family to work with. I was very fortunate to be there to capture a special family moment. Here's some teasers from our day!

Cherry Blossom Festival - Brooklyn Botanic Garden

What a way to start the month of May! Attended the last day of the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival, which is the end of the month long Hanami celebration of the Japanese cultural tradition of enjoying each moment of the cherry blossom season. The last day of the festival was packed, and rightly so with all the cherry blossoms in bloom. Many dressed for the occasion, and others came as they were ready to picnic and lounge by the orchards. Below are some moments from the event. Enjoy! undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Precious Angels

Children are such precious angels! Each child show so much energy and different personality. Very refreshing and I love capturing each of their beautiful faces. Bless each and every one of them and how fortunate parents are to have them in their lives! Newborn, children and little one sessions are available and catered to parent's choice of location to maximize the child's comfort.

I always wonder what toddlers think about when they have their down time and mommy or daddy are feeding them their milk.

Every child has to have a whirly pop once in awhile! It's fun watching them attempt to eat something at times bigger than their faces!

undefinedundefined

Here TJ smiles for the camera after having a few bites of one of my favorite snacks, Cheetos! After running around he makes a couple of stops to the bowl of Cheetos for energy. Let's just say mom was not too happy, but children will be children.

undefinedundefined

Who doesn't love cupcakes? I truly enjoy a child diving into a delicious cupcake.

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Birthday parties and fairy princesses...to be young and innocent!

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

The soulful eyes of young ones are truly remarkable. I love trying to capture them and wonder when they're looking at you, what they are truly thinking of and when they smile...are they laughing with me or at me? :-).
